HOW TO MOVE TO FRANCE?
Relocation to France. To legally stay in France, you must obtain a residence permit. The reasons for obtaining it are standard, but a number of features exist only in this country. For example, family reunification is possible not only on the basis of official, but also civil marriage, as well as a cohabitation pact. Having agreed on cohabitation with your French half, you must register your relationship using one of three options at the city hall at the place of residence of your chosen one. To obtain a residence permit you will need:
confirmation that the mayor's office is not against your marriage (it is against marriage with an alcoholic, alimony defaulter, divorced several times, unemployed),
a photocopy of your spouse’s or cohabitant’s personal card is like an internal passport,
confirmation of your spouse or partner's regular sources of income,
electricity, telephone or water bills paid by the spouse (cohabitant). You can also provide a receipt for payment for the rented apartment. Documents must be valid for no more than three months. These papers are designed to convince the embassy staff that your Frenchman has a place to receive you,
your general and foreign passports,
two forms with your photos.
If you enter into an official marriage, you will be given a family record book; otherwise, more modest papers will be issued. After a year, when you issue a residence card, you can apply for citizenship.
If you are a highly qualified specialist and have found your French employer, he must prepare a package of documents for the Labor Directorate. You will need your diploma, as well as a dossier that will include the employer's obligations. Based on this dossier, a decision is made to issue a long-term visa. Already in France it will be changed to an annual residence permit. If you have a permanent contract and financial stability, you can apply for permanent residence in 2-3 years. Having received permanent resident status, after 2 years you can begin to obtain French citizenship.
