HOW TO MOVE TO ITALY?
Relocation to Italy. The process of obtaining a residence permit in Italy cannot be called very simple: it, like in most European countries, consists of several stages. First of all, you will need a visa to enter the country. To start processing you will need the following documents:
passport;
2 photos on a white background;
certificate from place of study or work;
for minor children - a notarized birth certificate and consent of both parents to travel abroad.
The second step is obtaining a residence permit, which must be renewed in a timely manner. A residence permit will allow you to demonstrate your readiness to join society and prove that you are not a burden to the country’s economy.
The grounds for obtaining an Italian residence permit are practically the same as in most EU countries: employment, marriage to an Italian, own business, study. Buying real estate is not the direct reason for obtaining a residence permit, but it increases your chances of a positive outcome if you have a good income and health insurance. The list of documents again varies greatly depending on the reasons for the move and the emigrant’s situation, so you need to find out their list from law firms.
If you decide to get a job, keep in mind that diplomas from other EU countries are not valid in Italy. That is, you can only get a job with an Italian diploma of higher education. International certificates confirming your knowledge of foreign languages will be a significant help.
Having lived in Italy for at least 5 years, you can count on receiving permanent residence for a period of 5 years. Such a document gives you certain rights. If you have lived in the country for 5 - 10 years, it is time to apply for Italian citizenship.
