HOW TO MOVE TO MONACO?
Relocation to Monaco. The immigration procedure itself to Monaco is a very complex and time-consuming process and takes about six months. The main criteria for obtaining a residence permit are the availability of funds and housing, whether it is owned or rented.
You can obtain citizenship in Monaco if it is granted by the Prince of Monaco for special services, under a family restoration program, marriage with a citizen of this country, or legal residence in the territory of the principality for 10 years.
You can obtain a residence permit in the following ways:
Business. It is quite difficult to do business here, because before you can register your own business, you will need to obtain permission from the government. The minimum amount you will have to invest in the authorized capital is 150,000 euros.
Job. To settle in Monaco for a period of more than 3 months, you must apply to the French consulate for a long-term visa. It is necessary to prepare a package of documents in advance, which will subsequently be submitted to the authorities of Monaco for them to consider before making a decision on whether to issue a visa. The list of documents will depend on the purpose of your stay: a draft contract with a Monegasque company, which is certified by the employment service; document confirming the availability of housing - a lease agreement or a deed of purchase of property; funds to pay various expenses, including consular fees. Initially, you will be granted a residence permit for 1 year, then it can be extended.
Studies. The only university in the principality is located in Monte Carlo and is an English-speaking university. You must contact the Monaco Consulate to obtain a long-term student visa. There you will need to provide health insurance valid for all Schengen countries, an invitation to study from the university, confirmation of the availability of funds necessary for food and accommodation in the principality.
After 10 years of legal residence in Monaco, you can apply for permanent residence status. Dual citizenship is not recognized here, so you will have to give up your native passport and state.
